Closer by the day!

Hello backers! We are at that point in the campaign where the sound and fury of the beginning has died down, and we are waiting for the slings and arrows of the last 48 hours to begin. It's that time when shares, likes, and social media posts about the campaign are super duper important. We sincerely appreciate everyone out there who is continuing to mention the Kickstarter. It really is making a difference! 

We have some really exciting changes to the campaign that we are announcing today for you all, so read on.

New add-ons!

That's right, we are going to be adding some cool new add-ons to the campaign.  They will be live shortly after this message goes out so make sure you read it all the way to the end before trying to buy any of this stuff :)

Donated Copies  If you know a school with a roleplaying game club, or a library who offers game space, we want to make it easier for you to send them a physical copy of the book! So, you can pick up an extra copy to send to them for the Early Bird price of $45! As a special thank you, the first ten people who donate a copy will also get....

Limited Edition Sigil Pin  We want to make pins for this campaign, but to be honest making one for all nine sigils was just not going to happen because it was not cost effective. But, we were not to be deterred so we went to our Patreons with all nine sigils and asked them to pick their favorite from each artist. After they were done, we put out a poll for everyone on the internet to weigh on which sigil they would want on a limited edition pin that you will only be able to get through the Kickstarter. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. If you want your voice heard on which pin is your favorite, you can go here or reply to this update and we will tally your vote on Friday morning when we announce the winner. The pins will be $6 ($5+$1 for shipping).

Signed/Personalized Books  This is one that just never dawned on us that people might want, be apparently you do because we have been asked about it a ton. So, we will personalize your book and sign it for you for $5. Patreon supporters who buy a physical copy of the book get this for free!

Changes to the retail tier   The retail tier was something that we wanted all along because we wanted to support our friends who run FLGS throughout New England and beyond. After discussing with some of those friends, we realized that this tier just didn't make a lot of sense for them. So, we looked at the budget and we are dropping the price of this tier significantly. Now, you can get five books for only $149 which is a 40% discount, and retailers pay no shipping. The add-on for three additional books is now $89 and no shipping also. 

So there you have it. i If you have other suggestions or things you would like us to try and put together for this campaign in the last two weeks, do not hestitate to reach out. This campaign is alive and well because of you, so let's work together to make it Legendary!

What else is coming up?

We have already appeared on several other shows to talk about this campaign, and I added those links to the front page earlier this week. We would love you to go check those out, because as podcasters we really appreciate the airtime they gave us to help us reach out to all of you. 

But most excitedly, we are going to celebrate the end of our campaign with Geek and Greet from Fool's Moon on Monday, October 23rd at 8pm EST. You can find their Twitch Channel here. We would love it if you all came and celebrated with us on that night and gave us the chance to say thank you live for backing this campaign. 

Last but not least

Just a final thank you to everyone. Last time we looked, the campaign was sitting around 78% funded with  about $600 to go. That's incredible, and we are so honored that you chose to back this campaign. And we are so close to making it a reality! Don't forget the add-ons, they make a HUGE difference! You can still become an NPC in the book, or just add on the sticker pack. It all gets us that much closer to the goal, and we can not wait to share this content with you. Lewanika finished up the Soul Society a couple of days ago, and I have been reading through it. Y'all are REALLY gonna like this.

Hello Backers!

Thank you so much for backing our campaign, we are really excited to see where we can get it over the next three weeks. We aren’t quite at goal yet, but we are getting closer by the day.

If you have never backed one of our campaigns before, first off thank you and welcome! Secondly, throughout the campaign we like to check in to let you know on the how our progress looks. Our goal is to have the writing of the core offering done by the time the campaign ends, so that we can turn to stretch goals and layout afterwards. This gives us a really great opportunity to keep you in the loop on when you can expect the product, offer feedback, and in general just keep in touch.

So, let’s start there. Obviously the core offering for the book consists of these nine factions that we have developed. There are several in progress to the point of near completion right now, and are wrapping up this week. The “How to play” bits on the Emberweavers are being written by Josh as we speak (well, he’s writing this update, so not technically). Glen is working on the Membership section of the Guardians of the Grave, which wraps up its first draft; next is the Hands of Providence. Lewanika is completing the traditions and superstitions of the Thundersworn, as well as putting the finishing touches on the first draft of the Soul Society.

What will these factions look like?

This is an EXCELLENT question, and we have been doing a ton of interviews that will provide some of that information. I will compile a list of shows that you should check out, but in the meantime I would point you to the episode we put on our own channel a couple of weeks ago. We went into depth on the factions, but also the other pieces that are going to be covered in that base offering. Most importantly is going to be the “Build your own Faction” section. This is where we are going to crack open our method, the research we did, the structural choices that we made on what will be in each faction chapter. What else is going on?

One of the things that we love most is the TTRPG community itself. And there have been an absolute GLUT of great Kickstarter campaigns that started this week. We would be totally remiss if we didn’t start out by naming our sisters in the space, Kel and Skald, for absolutely smashing it out of the park with their latest Kickstarter, https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/awfullyqueerheroes/tower-of-the-mind-a-lv-1-20-campaign-location-for-5e-and-pf2

If you have never checked out the products by Awfully Queer Heroes, you should. I have three or four of their books on my shelf in close reach for whenever I need devilishly good enemies, engaging story lines, and just fun content to play. Check it out!

Last Words

We are making one change to the campaign, and while we would love to say that we came up with it, we are totally lifting it from another. We are adding a tier so that you can get a copy of the physical book sent to a school gaming club or library that you want to support. It’s coming, and we will make sure and announce when it is, but we are working on something that we can give you for being willing to support these amazing programs in your area, so keep an eye out.

In the meantime, thanks again for your support. These updates will probably be weekly for another little bit, at least until the campaign ends, and then we will move to a more “as often as appropriate” model.
